Admissions Overview

The MSW@USC seeks aspiring social work leaders capable of thriving in a top-tier graduate program. We offer multiple start dates per year, and our admissions committee reviews applications on a rolling basis. The sooner you apply, the sooner you can receive an admissions decision and start planning for your future.

The online Master of Social Work (MSW) program has two types of admissions designed to fit your educational background.

Traditional Online MSW Program Admissions

If you earned a bachelor’s degree, you may be eligible for our MSW program.

  • As few as 16 months to complete
  • 48 graduate-level credits
  • Offered full and part time
  • No GRE required

If you earned a Bachelor of Social Work, you may be eligible to start classes at the second-year level with our advanced standing program.

  • As few as 12 months to complete
  • 24 graduate-level credits
  • No GRE required
