Welcome and Orientation

Once USC receives your enrollment forms and deposit, the MSW@USC Student Success team will provide you with resources to help you acclimate to our online learning community.

Welcome Email

You will receive an email that explains initial steps you will need to take to complete your MSW@USC enrollment and invites you to attend a Welcome Call with Student Success.

Welcome Call

As a new student, you will participate in a one-on-one welcome call with Student Success, which will last 30–45 minutes. You will meet your Student Success Advisor, learn basic program information and discuss what you can expect moving forward. You will also explore the online platform, test the system capability of your computer and get answers to any questions you may have. You will schedule your welcome call directly with your Student Success Advisor based on your availability.

Orientation Course

The orientation course will be your first MSW@USC class, and you will complete it online on our virtual campus. In orientation, you will have the chance to familiarize yourself with the online classroom and learn how to participate in MSW@USC student life, including joining groups and connecting with classmates. You will also be able to post on the orientation course wall and start meeting other students from your cohort.

Live Orientation Session

This mandatory live session in the online classroom accommodates 10–12 students at a time, offering you the chance to get to know even more of your new classmates while learning more about the online platform and program requirements. A variety of optional open house sessions are also hosted by Student Success before the start of class and touch on a range of useful topics for your start in the program.

Ongoing Support

Student Success Advisors are available for assistance throughout your time in the program. You can contact them at any time with questions about the program or if you are having technical difficulties.
