Speak Out Against Domestic Violence

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the USC School of Social Work has partnered with the Take Back the Night Foundation to present three infographics to raise awareness of domestic violence issues.Take Back the Night seeks to end sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual abuse and all other forms of sexual violence. It serves to create safe communities and respectful relationships through awareness events and initiatives. In the graphics below, we share three facts about sexual assault that everyone should know:

  1. In the United States a sexual assault occurs every 2 minutes.
  2. Approximately two thirds of sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows.
  3. 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of rape or attempted rape.

We encourage you to share these infographics with your family, friends and colleagues, and speak out against domestic violence.
