Why did you choose USC for your doctoral program?
I felt this program was best suited to my long-term professional goals. I was selective about choosing an online program. I wanted to make sure I entered one that was supportive to me as a student and was at a reputable school.
Have you chosen the Grand Challenge you will focus on during your studies?
The Grand Challenge I selected was financial capabilityfor all. The more I fleshed out and discussed my ideas, the more I realized that I was concerned about the way that socio-economic status affects a person’s overall quality of life and ability to pursue goals. I also started to see a clear connection between mental health and a person’s level of options.
After earning your DSW, what do you hope to accomplish in your career?
My goal is to create a financial program that addresses the emotional barriers to pursuing wealth. I plan on partnering with various types of workers in the financial community to help them reach more people.
